La Higuera

Organic from Peru

It's that time of the month again when we have the pleasure of presenting you with a fantastic coffee. This time it is an organic coffee from Peru.

The taste of this coffee is sweet with a velvety texture. On the cupping table, it appears beautifully with the character traits of a well-produced washed Bourbon. The coffee is transparent and has a soft taste of milk chocolate and fruity notes of cranberry and yellow plum that really make it stand out.

We think La Higuera is an excellent example of how great an organic coffee from Peru can be, and we're incredibly excited to share it with you!

The Coffee Farm

This coffee comes from 10-15 producers around the village called La Higuera in the district of Colasay. This area is interesting because of its flavour profile and potential.

Many of the farmers have started planting Bourbon trees, which make up the majority of this coffee, although the area also grows varieties such as local Caturra and Catuai.

The small farms are all organically certified. By gathering their high quality coffee, they can accumulate enough to export internationally.
